Rosen Method bodywork: uses a combination of direct yet gentle touch and verbal interaction to bring what is being held in the body as chronic muscle tension into awareness. Using hands that listen rather than manipulate, the Rosen practitioner will meet the tension, assist the client in becoming better aware of places in his or her body that are holding chronic tension, and offer the possibility of change. As relaxation occurs and breathing deepens, thoughts and feelings that have been unconsciously held in the body begin to surface in the mind and can be explored with the practitioner. The Rosen practitioner has been trained to notice subtle changes in breathing patterns and muscle tension and will bring these changes to the client’s awareness.
Rosen Method works in the place where one's conscious mind and unconscious mind meet in one’s anatomy. Rosen Method bodywork is a powerful tool for self-discovery and healing, and is especially useful in supporting those who are in recovery, healing abuse issues, as well as those who have chronic pain due to a physical injury.

Rosen Movement: is a fun and easy way to keep joints lubricated and muscles flexible and moving with ease. Great for restoring a good sense of balance and coordination, Rosen movement also opens the chest muscles allowing for greater ease in breathing and relieving chronic neck and back pain.
Using great music and a supportive environment, Rosen movement is available to all ages, body types, and abilities.
About Sandra McCusker: I came to Rosen Method through my interest in the mind/body relationship, and a deepening understanding that positive touch is an integral part of health and healing. The process of becoming a certified Rosen Method bodywork practitioner consists of two years of classroom training followed by a 350 hour supervised internship. I began my training in October 2004 while pursuing a master’s degree in philosophy and religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I am currently a Rosen Method bodywork intern working under the supervision of Miriam Cantor, a senior Rosen Method teacher with more than 25 years experience. I continue to train at the The Berkeley Center and I am fortunate to receive instruction from Marion Rosen, the founder of Rosen Method.
My focus as a practitioner of Rosen Method is to encourage an embodied and peaceful existence within one's own skin; to accept clients as they are, without criticism or judgment, and support them in exploring new possibilities and ways of being. I am knowledgeable in Eastern and Western philosophies and religious traditions, as well as Goddess traditions and esoteric practices. While the focus of my academic career has been the various and fascinating ways human beings search for connection to the source, I have a profound interest in the work of neurologists such as Oliver Sacks and Joseph LeDoux. Balance, in all things.
